March, April and May 2009
With every difficulty comes an opportunity!!
March, April, May have been months that required flexibility, creativity and determination. We continued to see
lower order levels - but that's not new news to anyone. In April we received our TS16949 surveillance audit and
passed with No Findings. We are proud of our accomplishment and what it says about our Quality system.
With the slower flow of work we have been able to do some evaluation and refinement of our processes and so we
are seeing improvement in our ability to get things done effectively. We have had good opportunities to respond
to several companies that needed immediate assistance with their currently running powdered metal parts. Our
strong financial position and our commitment to respond quickly in emergency situations have made us the
answer several companies needed in this difficult market. We have available capacity and a willingness to do
whatever is required to get the parts people need when the unexpected happens. We're always delighted to solve
problems for current or potential customers!! Thanks for the opportunities you have given us to respond to your
needs!
January/February 2009
The New Year started with some increase in order flow but still well below normal.
January and February saw some increase in orders from our loyal customers and we were also fortunate enough
to add 2 new customers with active orders so our sales dollars are coming back to the pre-slump levels. We called
back several people and expect to call back several more as we head into the second quarter. We have
maintained our quality and delivery performance throughout this difficult time and will continue to be sure that we
produce the parts you want and deliver them to your schedule. We have improved through put and efficiencies
and because we are confident that we will see more growth in the near future, we are investing in some new
equipment to better serve you. We take the confidence you have placed in us seriously and will do all we can to
serve you with consistency and excellence. Thanks to all of you who continue to send us new opportunities to
quote work. We believe there is a bright future for people who are willing to be flexible and change with the ever
changing economic climate, and we are willing!!. We are strong financially and more ready than ever to meet your
sintered metal needs.
November/December 2008
Ending the year with more belt tightening and focusing of our efforts.
Just like so many business in this current economy, we had to lay off a few people early in December because our
orders slowed some, but we are seeing them pick back up a little now and hope to be calling people back in the
next week or two. We have taken the lighter work load as an opportunity to focus in on our core business and
make the adjustments that will keep us competitive and effective as we head into the New Year. I’m not sure we
have seen the end of the slow down but because of our customer mix across several industries we are not feeling
the pinch as badly as some. We continue to get new opportunities from companies we haven’t worked for in the
past so that helps us keep our sales dollars up. We are very thankful for our loyal customers that give stability to
our business and also for the new opportunities that come our way. We stand ready to serve you with powdered
metal parts and machining services as we push into the New Year together. Just let us know how we can help and
we’ll get right to it!!

Tightening the belt and getting even more lean - our plan for weathering the economic storm.
These economic times reveal the weaknesses and strengths of any business. We understand that to grow and
thrive in the current climate we must go back to the basics and get them done better than ever. While the order
levels from our current customers are slacking off a little bit we have worked hard to demonstrate to our
prospective customers that we are the right fit for their needs. The result, several new customers this month that
will help keep our sales dollars strong. In order to be even more competitive we have continued to upgrade
equipment and processes. We are improving our APQP process and the document flow within the organization.
We are planning for the future by making some personnel adjustments - giving people the opportunity to excel in
their areas of strength. We think the future looks bright! Thanks for being a part of it with us!

A month of improving work flow and streamlining paper work.
We put much effort into the way our machine shop is set up this month. The goal is to increase efficiency by
decreasing movement and handling of material. We are also building in flexibility so we can efficiently handle the
new projects that are coming in. We redesigned the feed shoe on several of our presses to reduce cycle time,
that helps us get your parts done more quickly! Several of the management team invested time and effort in re-
looking a our incoming tooling procedure. We are building in more safe guards to be sure that your tools will
produce exactly the part you need. We are continuing to work on the way we handle documentation and how we
report our activities. The goal is to eliminate anything that is unnecessary and make our reporting clear, concise
and to the point. We think we're making good progress!! RFQ's and new orders are continuing to come in and we
thank all of you who have placed your confidence in us. Our commitment is to work hard and smart to get you the
parts you need at a price that's fair. Thanks for giving us the opportunity!!

A month for equipment and physical plant improvements.
Our output of completed quotations continues at record pace and incoming RFQ's are still a steady flow - but at
lower levels than June and July. We're working hard to get caught up, thank you for your patience as we do! In
August we were able to make some improvements to our sintering furnaces that will reduce our water usage. We
also made some changes that improve our ability to do preventative maintenance quickly - resulting in less down
time which has the effect of increasing capacity. We have added an overhead powder delivery system to two more
presses giving us the capability to make your parts more quickly and with improved control of the powder, chance
of contamination is reduced and the optimum blend of the powder is maintained Our team is pulling together to do
all we can to serve you, our customers with excellence. Thanks for the privilege of serving you!!

Another new record for RFQ's received in a single month!!
Just when we thought we were getting caught up on RFQ's from June, a number of new opportunities were
entrusted to us - some from current customers and many from prospective customers. THANK YOU! We are
delighted that you have confidence in us to quote your work and we are sorry that we had another month where
we were not able to respond to all of you as quickly as you deserve. We took further steps to improve our quoting
system and produced, in July, a record number of completed quotes for a single month. Because we continue to
see an increase in RFQ's and incoming orders, we are taking steps in the plant so we will be ready to produce
your parts in a timely fashion. We still have capacity available and are working hard to improve our processes and
material flow so we can be even more responsive to your needs. Our on time delivery record stays at or near
100% and our defective PPM's stay at or near 0 and we will keep it that way!! Thanks for the opportunities you
are giving us to become your go to source for powdered metal parts.

One of our best sales months and the end of our physical year.
Thanks to this new website and all our friends that investigated us through it, June was a record setting month for
incoming RFQ's. We are very thankful that so many of you trusted us enough to let us look at your future work.
The volume of RFQ's we received was greater than our immediate ability to process so we must apologize to those
of you who had to wait longer than expected for a response from us. We have already taken steps to correct the
situation and we will return to our quick turn around of your RFQ's in the very near future. As our new process
takes effect and the people on the team settle into their new roles we believe you will get the timely responses you
deserve. We are committed to becoming your Powdered Metal supplier of choice. Thanks for allowing us to serve
you. Our goal is to always be worthy of your trust!

Improvements made in our Quality Systems that increase capability and effectiveness.
We have made some great improvements in our Quality Systems during the month of May. We upgraded the
CMM software to the latest and greatest, we installed and trained on new software to compute CP & CPK data,
and we added a person to the group to better handle the increasing work load. We also added another set-up
and maintenance person in our press room. The RFQ's continue to come in and new work is developing at a rate
that is challenging but manageable. We have restructured our quoting procedure to handle the increased flow
and still respond to everything that comes our way in a timely manner. We're here to serve you!

This website is launched and we're already seeing results.
With a lot of cooperation from many people, and some trial and error, we were successful in getting this website to
more closely reflect what our company is all about. We have had many bits of advice from a number of different
sources - for which we are thankful! Our hope is that everyone who visits our site will get the details of what we
can do but also will feel welcomed and like they're dealing with neighbors. We have already begun to receive
RFQ's from companies who have visited, THANKS!! In our shrinking world we want to be known as a company that
cares and treats others with respect and openness. We hope this site gives you that message. If you would like to

ISO/TS 16949:2002 surveillance audit completed successfully!!
After careful scrutiny by our NSF auditor, we passed with flying colors. No findings were reported but we did
receive numerous helpful suggestions by going through the process. As with any growing company there are
always things that can be done to improve the systems. This surveillance audit assures us that the basic
foundation is in place as we go forward.
